“When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it’s your world for the moment. I want to give that world to someone else. Most people in the city rush around so they have no time to look at a flower. I want them to see it whether they want to or not.” —Georgia O’Keefe
Roses
Capturing the essence of my garden roses has become a magnificent obsession. For me, there are only two seasons, spring, when they burst into vibrant bloom, and the anticipation of spring, when I eagerly await their glorious return.
The transformation of a rose is magical. The divine geometric proportions of its petals, captured from various angles, create imagery as simplistic as a Miro or as complex as a Picasso.
Beyond their beauty, my garden roses hold a deeper, spiritual significance. They are symbols of love, resilience, and growth. Their journey from bud to full bloom mirrors the stages of our own personal and spiritual growth. The thorns symbolize the inevitable pain and challenges we encounter along our path, while the full blooms reflect the fulfillment of our dreams.
The fleeting beauty of a rose reminds us of the transient nature of life and the importance of living in the present moment. While the bloom is short-lived, the spirit of the rose lives on.
